Hydrant flushing will continue tomorrow, May 24, 2019. Due to storm clean up, it was not completed. Also, if anyone has brush from the storm to get rid of, the guys will be out tomorrow and Tuesday with the chipper to pick it up. Leave it by the road and they will get it!
Hydrant flushing was supposed to occur last Thursday, according to the posted schedule, but with the drainage work on North Street being done, it was missed. Hydrant flushing will happen this Thursday, May 23 instead. Thank you for understanding.

Progress is being made on North Street drainage.
As summer kicks off and travel increases, the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office and Mansfield Police is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation to remind motorists to Click It or Ticket. The seat-belt enforcement campaign will take place May 10 through 28, concurrent with one of the busiest travel and holiday weekends of the year. Click It or Ticket enforces the proper use of seat-belts and car-seats to keep all motorists safe. As the Memorial Day weekend approaches, we want to make sure people are doing everything they can to stay safe when traveling.” In Illinois, nearly 95% of motorists use seat belts, but a disproportionate number of fatalities still involve unbelted motorists and passengers. Seat belt use decreases even more for back seat passengers and for people traveling at night. The Piatt County Sheriff’s Office and Mansfield Police Department will be taking a no-excuses approach, writing citations day and night. Motorists and passengers not wearing their seat belt will be ticketed, and those caught driving impaired will be arrested. Golf carts have been seen driving North and South on Washington Street. This is a reminder that golf carts are not to be driven on Washington Street. They are only allowed to cross over Washington going East/West. Golf carts are also not to be driving on Route 150 or on County Hwy 2.
Trustee Gilbert had the golf cart stickers in! He will be out and about some evenings and Sundays visiting existing permit holders. You can call and set up a time to meet him at 489-4801 ext 507. If you are wanting to get a permit for a new cart you can find the ordinance on the village website under the ordinances. There will also be some times set up at a later date where you can have an inspection done at the village building. Dates and times to come!
